Diesel fuel is the main source of energy for transportation companies and industrial corporations operating large mobile and stationary machineries.
For these industries, fuel quality can make a difference between profitability and red ink.
Contaminated fuel is indeed a major cause of high fuel consumption, soot emissions, unburned fuel, fume odor and increased fuel costs. Worse, contaminants clog the fuel filters, fuel lines and injector nozzles, causing engine malfunctions, ultimately leading to higher maintenance costs, reduced machine useful life and catastrophic failure. - Water is the most frequent of all contaminants. Water can damage injector components and reduce the lubricity of the fuel, which can cause seizure of close tolerance components such as those found in modern high pressure injection systems
- Fungus and bacteria are micro-organisms living in water. They deplete the energetic attributes of fuel and generate degradation products including hydrogen sulfide which is likely to provoke seizure, block injectors and plug the filter.
- Sediments and other solids can also plug the filter, decrease performance, cause failures and damage your engines.
